Soldiers prepare for new ACFT
CAMP JOHNSON, Vermont — Introducing Vermont National Guard Solders to the new Army Combat Fitness Test 3.0 has required Staff Sgt. Yolande Allen to attend Master Fitness Trainer School, read numerous regulations and "memorize Field Manual 7-22, Holistic Health and Fitness," Allen said. In addition to duties of the VTARNG ACFT coordinator, Allen is a member of the 40th Army Band.

Vermont ARNG holds sendoff for Task Force Mansfield
CAMP JOHNSON, Vermont — The Vermont Army National Guard held a sendoff ceremony May 18, 2021, at Camp Johnson, Vermont, for Soldiers assigned to Task Force Mansfield and the 172nd Public Affairs Detachment. The Soldiers among the last of about 1,000 to deploy to U.S. European Command and U.S. Central Command to support federal missions.

CAMP JOHNSON, Vermont — Women may now join any combat arms unit in the Vermont Army National Guard, following authorization by National Guard Bureau issued today. The Vermont Army National Guard is the first in the nation to open all combat arms units within its organization to the recruitment of women.

Vermont cavalry squadron cleared to recruit women
