Vermont Army Guard holds sendoff for 3-172nd Infantry

CAMP JOHNSON, Vermont — Third Battalion, 172nd Infantry (Mountain), 86th Brigade Infantry Combat Team (Mountain) held a sendoff ceremony Jan. 29 at the Camp Ethan Allen Training Site Parade Field in Jericho, Vermont.

Army announces new grooming, appearance standards

WASHINGTON — New changes to grooming and appearance standards are slated to take effect next month, as part of the Army’s commitment to improving the wellbeing of all Soldiers.

172nd LED tests skills prior to deployment

JERICHO, Vermont — The 172nd Law Enforcement Detachment concluded more than a year of training with an evaluation at the Camp Ethan Allen Training Site Jan. 15-16.

158th Fighter Wing departs for training in Florida

Vermont Air National Guard — Airmen, aircraft and support equipment from the 158th Fighter Wing depart this week to Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida to participate in a weapon system validation exercise.

Approximately 100 Vermont National Guardsmen will deploy to Washington, D.C., to support inauguration efforts the week of Jan. 18, 2021. Vermont National Guard rolls out first doses of COVID vaccine

Airmen honor Vermont’s oldest living veteran

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vermont — Honor. This is a word that is ingrained into the ethos of men and women who have ever served in the U.S. military. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that when Airmen of the 158th Fighter Wing learned that Vermont’s oldest living veteran, 106-year-old Lenny Roberge who served in WWII, wanted to visit the Vermont Air National Guard, they were excited and started making plans for his visit in November.

The Defense Finance and Accounting Service is planning to extend payroll collections for military members and Department of Defense civilians through December 2021 to reimburse a tax deferment designed to support personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic, officials said.

Vermont Guard restarts Military Funeral Honors training program

CAMP JOHNSON, Vermont — Nine cadets from the University of Vermont's ROTC detachment became the first graduates of the Vermont National Guard's Military Funeral Honors training program since 2010 during a ceremony Dec. 18, 2020.
