Airmen honor Vermont’s oldest living veteran

Honor. This is a word that is ingrained into the ethos of men and women who have ever served in the U.S. military. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that when Airmen of the 158th Fighter Wing learned that Vermont’s oldest living veteran, 106-year-old Lenny Roberge who served in WWII, wanted to visit the Vermont Air National Guard, they were excited and started making plans for his visit in November.

Military, civilians to repay tax deferments through December 2021

The Defense Finance and Accounting Service is planning to extend payroll collections for military members and Department of Defense civilians through December 2021 to reimburse a tax deferment designed to support personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic, officials said.

Vermont ANG to conduct night flying operations

The Vermont Air National Guard is scheduled to begin two weeks of night flying operations here Dec. 1-5 and Dec. 8-11. Nighttime takeoffs will occur between 4:30-6:30 p.m. and nighttime landings will occur between 6-8 p.m.

COVID-19 test sites move indoors

Soldiers and Airmen with the Vermont National Guard have been operating COVID-19 test sites for the general public since March, but with weather getting colder, they’re moving testing indoors while adhering to public health guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Vermont Department of Health.
