END OF AN ERA: Vermont F-16’s final flights – 33 years

CAMP JOHNSON, Vermont  –  

The Vermont Air National Guard will host two events next week to celebrate the final flight and history of Vermont’s F-16 Fighting Falcons. Airmen will be available for Interviews April 3, 2019, from 1-3 p.m.

The final departure ceremony, "Viper Out," is April 6 at 1 p.m. The aircraft are being divested into other Air National Guard units.

The 158th Fighter Wing is in conversion and will receive the F-35 Lightning II this fall.

The Vermont Air National Guard is celebrating 33 years of history with the F-16. The F-16 has been a significant part of the VTNG and Vermont communities. April 3 marks an opportunity to speak with Airmen about their experiences and the history of the F-16. On April 6, the Adjutant General and 158th Fighter Wing Commander will provide comments to Airmen and the media followed by the final takeoff at 1:58 of Vermont’s F-16’s from Burlington International Airport.
