New York Army National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Cyber Protection Team 173 counter an attacker who infiltrated a utility company's computer network during an exercise at the Kingston Armory in Kingston, New York, Feb. 23-26, 2026. The scenario pitted the National Guard cyber security experts against an enemy who had planted ransomware into a utility company's computer network.
