Vermont National Guard Departs for Arctic

Vermont National Guard — 10 members of the Vermont Army National Guard depart Vermont with 18 other Service Members from the New Hampshire, Virginia, and Alaska National Guards as well as active-duty members of the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps on Wednesday, February 28.

Vermont Air National Guard Base — Rev. Joe Berry Powell was born into slavery in Edgecome County, North Carolina in 1853. More than 170 years later, his great-great-great grandson serves in the Vermont Air National Guard.

Vermont Airmen Test Agility During Multi-State Exercise

Savannah Air National Guard Base — Throughout the course of two weeks, nearly 260 personnel from the Vermont Air National Guard’s 158th Fighter Wing left the snow, sleet, and freezing temperatures of a New England winter and made their way to the sunshine and more moderate climes of northern Georgia.

Vermont National Guard and Austria forge ahead with new initiatives in the State Partnership Program

VIENNA, Austria — In a significant demonstration of support for the strengthening relationship between the Vermont National Guard and Austria, Gen. Daniel Hokanson, Chief of the National Guard Bureau, joined Maj. Gen. Gregory Knight, The Adjutant General of the Vermont National Guard, and Brig. Gen. Tracy Poirier, Director of the Joint Staff, in key meetings with the Austrian Bundesheer leadership.
