  • MEETING WITH A RECRUITER

    The next step for eligible recruits who want to find out more about joining the Vermont Army National Guard as a Solider, is to sit down with a recruiter. The recruiters with the Vermont Army National Guard are the most qualified people to help you find out if the Army National Guard is the right career choice for you.

  • REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

    Your local Vermont Army National Guard recruiter will help you identify which documents are required for enlistment. Our recruiters will also assist you in obtaining replacements or copies of any documents that will be needed to join & receive employment.

  • ACADEMIC EVALUATION

    After speaking with a recruiter from the Vermont Army National Guard, your next step will be to take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). The ASVAB is a multiple-choice test designed to pinpoint your strengths and identify which Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), or Army National Guard job, bests suits you.

  • MEPS

    Your Army National Guard recruiter will help you schedule an appointment at the nearest Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). At MEPS, they will determine if you are qualified to serve and what jobs with the Vermont Army National Guard are the best fit for you. This is also where you will take your physical examination.

    The Vermont Army National Guard offers many different careers in a wide variety of categories and fields. The key to your military career path is your ASVAB score, which helps to identify the Army National Guard jobs that are the best fit for your skills.

  • PREPARE FOR BASIC COMBAT TRAINING

    Now that you have taken the ASVAB, passed your physical, and decided upon a career path, you are ready to move on to the important training necessary to become a solider with the Vermont Army National Guard. This will be your Basic Combat Training, the gateway to your career.
