Vermont Soldiers return from D.C.

CAMP JOHNSON, Vermont  –  

About 100 Soldiers deployed to the Capitol region of Washington D.C. since Jan. 16, 2021 will return to Vermont Feb. 21 between 3-5 p.m. Due to COVID-19 mitigation efforts, only media is invited to attend the arrival.

The National Guard has supported the Inauguration every four years since George Washington. This year, the Vermont National Guard joined over 20,000 other Soldiers and Airmen from across the country to support federal and local agencies ensure a peaceful inauguration. Several thousand service members remained in D.C. following the Inauguration in order to support federal agencies maintain security.

Effective October 1, 2024: To streamline communications, all F-35 and Air National Guard related inquiries should be routed directly to the 158th Fighter Wing contact page or by calling 802-660-5379. F-35 flying alerts (ie night flying schedules) will only be posted on the Vermont Air National Guard website.
