158th Fighter Wing Conducts Essential Night Flying Training

The Vermont Air National Guard's 158th Fighter Wing will conduct night flying operations from Tuesday, Sept. 9, to Friday, Sept. 12, and again from Tuesday, Sept. 16, to Friday, Sept. 19.

More than 6,000 visitors showed up to an open house hosted by the Vermont Air and Army National Guard in 2024.

Vermont Air National Guard F-35 Independence Day Flyover

In celebration of Independence Day, the Vermont Air National Guard’s 158th Fighter Wing will conduct a regional flyover on July 4, honoring the spirit of the holiday and the enduring support of communities across Vermont and upstate New York.

Airmen assigned to the 158th Fighter Wing take off in an aircraft that will bring them to their deployed location, from the Burlington International Airport.

More than 200 Airmen, along with equipment and F-35A Lighting II aircraft from the Vermont Air National Guard recently deployed to Kadena Air Base, Japan, as part of a planned rotation to enhance regional security and strengthen interoperability with joint and allied forces.

158FW Night Flying Operations

The Vermont Air National Guard will conduct night flying operations from Tuesday, September 10, to Thursday, September 12, and from Tuesday, September 17 to Wednesday, September 18 with one afternoon and one evening takeoff period per day. Flights are scheduled to conclude by 9:30 p.m.

Army National Guard Best Warrior Competition Finals begin in Vermont

JERICHO, Vt. — Competitors from across the country received their welcome briefs and equipment today for the finals of the Army National Guard’s Best Warrior competition, at Ethan Allen Firing Range.

JERICO, Vt. — The Vermont National Guard will host the Army National Guard’s Best Warrior Competition finals. Competition goes from August 3 to August 8. Sunday, August 4, from 6:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. is the best window for media to attend.

Vermont Air National Guard Night Flying

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. — The Vermont Air National Guard will conduct night flying from Tuesday, July 23, to Friday, July 26 with one afternoon and one evening takeoff period per day. Flights are scheduled to conclude by 11:15 p.m.

Minnesota Army National Guard Spc. Bronson Stachowiak, from Cottage Grove, Minnesota, who serves as a unit supply specialist with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 682nd Engineer Battalion is one of 27 service members from the Minnesota National Guard and NATO allied nations Canada and Croatia who participated in the 2026 Minnesota Best Warrior Competition April 15-18, 2026, at Camp Ripley, near Little Falls, Minnesota.
