Military Service Builds Career Readiness

Airman 1st Class Isis Edwards is originally from Manchester, Connecticut, and is a drill status Guardsman at the Vermont Air National Guard. She joined the VTANG in 2023 at the age of 19 and is currently working in the Judge Advocate General's office, providing legal assistance for her fellow Airmen.

More than 6,000 visitors showed up to an open house hosted by the Vermont Air and Army National Guard, where military aviation, equipment, vehicles, munitions and flight simulators were on display, along with a career fair, musical performances and police dog demonstrations.

See more than a Dozen Aircraft at VTNG Open house

The Vermont National Guard confirms that multiple military and civilian aircraft and vehicles will be featured on static display at the upcoming Open House on Sunday, Sept. 7. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to explore all aircraft along with the VTANG’s own F-35A Lightning II.

Soldier Spotlight: Spc. Robby Burns - Pro Snowboarder

U.S. Army Spc. Robert Burns assigned to 3-172nd A. Co., 86th Infantry Combat Team (Mountain), Vermont National Guard, represented the U.S. Armed Forces Sports team at the 2025 CISM (Conseil International du Sport Militaire) Military World Winter Games hosted by the Swiss Military from March 23 to March 30 in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Sisters-in-Arms

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. — Within the ranks of the United States military, sharing a last name is not all that uncommon, but for U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Sarah Gerry and U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Laura Gerry, it's more than just a coincidence, that’s because the two are sisters.

Airman Knits Joy for Self and Others

Vermont Air National Guard Base — Senior Airman Emily Sorrell took a simple knitting hobby and created a rewarding side hustle by crafting mini creatures that she calls “plushies.” And she may have a common throat bacteria to thank for her success.
