VTANG Airmen to return from Red Flag

158th Fighter Wing Public Affairs

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vermont  –

Vermont Air National Guard members will return from Red Flag exercise at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., beginning Aug. 6.

“The Airmen of the 158th Fighter Wing stood out as top performers during this most advanced Red Flag exercise,” said 158th Fighter Wing Command Chief Master Sgt. Jeffrey Stebbins. “Our Airmen trained in a 24-hour shift model, during some of the most extreme weather conditions they’ve faced to date, up to 115 degrees.”

More than 200 Airmen deployed for the three-week exercise which provides pilots, aircrew and operators a realistic training environment to prepare them for any combat environment.

“Even in the extreme conditions, our Airmen make it look easy,” Stebbins said. “This is a true testament to their dedication and professionalism which underscores that every Airman knows their role and how important they are in the big picture.”

The 158th Fighter Wing will resume regular flying operations beginning Aug. 11. For additional information about the F-35, please visit www.vtguard.com/F-35.
