Vermont Soldiers depart for U.S. Central Command

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vermont  –  

The Vermont National Guard will deploy over 60 soldiers to multiple locations across U.S. Central Command from the Army Aviation Flight Facility in South Burlington on March 30 between 10 a.m. and noon. These soldiers are primarily from the Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 101st Artillery, 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Mountain).

These soldiers have been preparing for over a year as part of about 950 Vermont Army National Guard Soldiers deploying across U.S. Europe Command, U.S. Africa Command and U.S. Central Command throughout the first half of 2021. The National Guard’s federal mission is what prepares and equips members to perform state missions, such as COVID-19 response, when requested by the governor.
