Vermont National Guard Public Affairs

CAMP JOHNSON, Vermont  –

Soldiers and Airmen of the Vermont National Guard’s 15th Civil Support Team are scheduled to conduct multiple operations for a training proficiency evaluation overseen by U.S. Army North on Sept. 21 near the Barre Auditorium in Barre, Vermont, and Sept. 23 near the Vermont Army National Guard Armory in Enosburg Falls. The public is advised that this is an exercise and no emergency is taking place.

The external evaluation is scheduled to start in the morning and will occur most of the day. The exercise will consist of building monitoring, scanning for chemical, biological, and nuclear elements, building and room searches and react to chemical lab. The unit will identify hazards, assist, access, and/or advise incident commanders at any all-hazard events with a specific emphasis on chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear hazards.

The Vermont National Guard’s 15th Civil Support Team is a uniquely skilled team that is prepared to support local civilian authorities by identifying, assisting and advising an Incident Commander in response to actual or potential use of Weapons of Mass Destruction and all hazards.
