86th IBCT Command Sgt. Maj. Change of Responsibility Ceremony

CAMP JOHNSON, Vermont  –  

The 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Mountain) Command Sgt. Maj. Change of Responsibility Ceremony from outgoing Command Sgt. Maj. Paul Edwards to incoming Command Sgt. Maj. Todd Gagnon is scheduled to occur Feb. 8, 2020, at 11 a.m. The ceremony will recognize the transition of responsibility from Edwards to Gagnon as the 86th IBCT command sergeant major, who is the senior enlisted adviser for Soldiers in the 86th IBCT (MTN).

The Change of Responsibility is the traditional ceremonial event of exchanging the Unit Colors from the outgoing Command Sgt. Maj. to the incoming Command Sgt. Maj. This position is the highest enlisted position held in the 86th IBCT and acts as the senior-enlisted advisor to enlisted members while serving as council to the unit Commander. The 86th IBCT (MTN) will most likely deploy in 2021.

The 29th Infantry Division concluded its 20-day Warfighter Training Exercise, or WFX 26-4, June 14, 2026, at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania. The division mustered its units from across the nation, including the Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, Florida and Alabama National Guards.The warfighter exercise was designed to test division staff with challenging problems and obstacles necessary for success in large-scale combat operations.
