Marksmanship Advisory Council Region 1 Championships

Vermont National Guard Public Affairs

CAMP JOHNSON, Vermont  –

The Vermont National Guard is hosting the annual three-day Marksmanship Advisory Council Region 1 Championships at the Camp Ethan Allen Training Site in Jericho, Vermont, June 21-23 from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Approximately 80 marksmanship competitors from throughout New England, New York, and Nebraska are competing. Sixteen Vermont Army National Guard Soldiers and seven Vermont Air National Guard Airmen are scheduled to participate in the competition.

The MAC Regional Matches are battle focused marksmanship sustainment exercises, designed to validate and sustain perishable marksmanship skills essential to mobilization readiness and success. This allows Guardsmen to test their marksmanship skill with rifles and pistols through competition with other marksmen in their region.
