VTANG receives final F-35

Vermont National Guard Public Affairs

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vermont  –  

The 20th and last F-35A Lightning II fighter jet is projected to arrive at the Vermont Air National Guard base on Oct. 14, 2020.

The arrival of the last F-35 is a significant milestone in the 158th Fighter Wing’s conversion timeline. The Wing is expected to be a ready, deployable unit with this latest 5th generation aircraft by the end of next year.

Media representatives are invited to attend this event to capture the approach and landing of this jet. Vermont National Guard leaders will be available for interviews following the landing. Please RSVP no later than Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 10 a.m.

Effective October 1, 2024: To streamline communications, all F-35 and Air National Guard related inquiries should be routed directly to the 158th Fighter Wing contact page or by calling 802-660-5379. F-35 flying alerts (ie night flying schedules) will only be posted on the Vermont Air National Guard website.
