124th RTI to hold change of command

Vermont National Guard Public Affairs

The Vermont Army National Guard will host a virtual change of command ceremony for the 124th Regiment (Regional Training Institute) March 6 at 10 a.m.

Col. William Wagner will assume command from Col. Tracey Poirier in the foyer of Green Mountain Armory at Camp Johnson in Colchester, Vermont.

“The Vermont Army National Guard has a bright future,” said Brig. Gen. James Pabis, assistant adjutant general - Army. “Colonel Poirier will continue to provide outstanding experience and leadership in her new role as the Chief of Staff; and I have full confidence that Colonel Wagner will continue to build on the success of Colonel Poirier’s time in command.”

The Regional Training Institute is home to the Army Mountain Warfare School, Information Operations Battalion, Officer Candidate School, and the Basic Leaders Course.
